Ordinal Numbers:
- first - çawwal (çawle)
- second - têni (tênye)
- third - têlit (têlte)
- fourth - râbiý (râbýa)
- fifth - kêmis (kêmse)
- sixth - sêdis (sêdse)
- seventh - sêbiý (sêbýa)
- eighth - têmin (têmne)
- ninth - têsiý (têsýa)
- tenth - ýâcir (ýâcra)
- last - çêkir
Examples:
The first year - çawwal sine/s-sine l-çawle
The third time - têlit marra/l-marra t-têlte
The tenth day - ýacir yôm/l-yôm l-ýacir
The last floor - çêkir ţâbiç/ţ-ţâbiç l-çêkir
Notes:
- Ordinal numbers are invariable when placed before a noun, but they must agree in gender when placed after.
- Ordinal numbers after 'tenth' are not used in Lebanese Arabic, they are replaced by the word 'Number - raçem' followed by a cardinal number, e.g. 'the eleventh man - rijjêl raçem xdaýc'.
